Thrilling  Manali Trip   We  had a memorable vacation trip to Manali in Himachal Pradesh, India. Group of 5 members  took up journey by road from Delhi, on 6 th  June 2016 – around 6 am. Journey was through Maruti Suzuki Swift Desire- self-driven. The day journey was totally comfortable and extremely enjoyable. It was quite chilly but inside vehicles it was cozy and comfortable. Our first stop was at Murthal (about 40KM) and had a   Breakfast   super of crisp stuffed vegetable pranthas with fresh white butter at our favorite food joint – Sukhdev Dhaba. Rounds of tea after every two hours at road side Dhabas was really relishing. Getting out of cozy car into chilly and windy atmosphere in late nights and early mornings needed real guts. But hot masala tea with ginger and cardamom was a real rewarding treat. We reached Shimla (370 KM from Delhi) – a major town – around 7 pm. We had good Dinner at a nice Hotel Vatika Resort. Surajkund (सुरजकुण्ड) is an ancient reservoir of the 10th century located in Faridabad about 8 km (5 miles) from South Delhi.]Surajkund (literal meaning is 'Lake of the Sun') is an artificial Kund (‘Kund’ means “lake” or reservoir) built in the backdrop of the Aravalli hills with an amphitheatre shaped embankment constructed in semicircular form. It is said to have been built by the Gujjar king Suraj Pal of Tomar dynasty in the 10th century. Tomar was a sun worshipper and he had therefore built a Sun temple on its western bank.
